New combinations with the genus Rothmannia for three former Gardenia species are proposed: R. lagunensis R. merrillii and R. negrosensis. Neotypes are designated for R. lagunensis and R. negrosensis, while R. merrillii is lectotypified. With these three taxa Rothmannia is now established also for the Philippine archipelago.
